Jarid Haddock is a 21-year-old boy from Yakima County. He was named the suspect in the shooting that took place in Yakima, Washington DC at a Circle K convenience store on Monday.
Police were successful after hours of chasing Jarid Haddock after he fatally shot three people in Circle K around 3 p.m. According to Yakima Police Chief Matthew Murray, Jarid Haddock fled the scene of the shooting in a grey or silver Chrysler 200.
Murray said the suspect might have killed the driver of the car before fleeing, in which case the driver would be the fourth victim. Around 2:15 p.m. a family member of the suspect called the police for saying he was “behind some warehouses” in the city, according to Yakima police.
The perpetrator was quickly apprehended by the police, who discovered that he had suffered what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. According to Murray, the subject was being treated by emergency personnel and no police fired upon him.
He also said the attack was random and the gunman allegedly walked up to the store and just started shooting. There is no clear motive behind it according to him.
Murray said “At approximately 3:30 this morning we received a call about a male who was shooting parties at a location of 18th street, in Knobhill, ”
“When officers arrived they located three deceased parties at a Circle K convenience store and quickly realized that there was a second shooting scene across the street at the ampm”
Murray says video of the shooting showed the suspect fired at the Chrysler, where he fled, and the passenger in the car can be seen walking toward the passenger seat in the video.
