Jason Bateman Got a Full-Body Scan, Jokes 'It's Just One Microchip Up There'

Jason Bateman shared that he received a full-body scan — a preventative diagnostic treatment offered by Prenuvo that’s popular with celebrities — and found it to be a good source of jokes as well as medical information.

On the Nov. 11 episode of SmartLess, Bateman co-hosts the podcast with Will Arnett and Sean Hayes, Ozark star admitted his cholesterol is “terrible” and shared that he “just had one of those full-body scans.”

“And, brainless?” Arnett joked.

“Yes,” Bateman, 55, replied.

“And completely empty?” Arnett said.

“Sir, may we speak with you for a moment?” Hayes interjected.

“There’s only one microchip up there,” Bateman added.

“They said he didn’t — he didn’t have a heart. They just found a box with a picture of a heart in it,” Arnett joked, before seriously asking, “So, did you get the results?”

“Yes. Thank you. The results were good,” Bateman said. “Everything is fantastic, and, yes, I’m very pleased. Because, you know, you never know with these things. You might get, “Okay, so your scan appointment is tomorrow at 3 o’clock?” Okay. So tomorrow at 3 o’clock I will find out if I have something to worry about for the rest of my life.”

“You walk in and they bring in six doctors … and they say, ‘The team needs to talk to you,'” Arnett said, referring to how bad news is often conveyed in the medical environment. “Hey, Jason. Can you clear up your schedule for the next four months? ”

“And do you have a wife, a girlfriend, a best friend, someone who might be able to drive you?” Bateman said.

“Are you even religious?” Arnett added. “Because we have a guy here on standby.”

Will Arnett says becoming a dad at 38 ‘brought everything into focus’ but jokes ‘it’s a zoo’

“We were talking about that, you and I, Will, the other day,” Bateman said. “And you said, ‘Well, I don’t know. I mean, do you want to know?’ I said, ‘Yes, I do if it’s good news,’ and thank God it was good. So that’s good.”

Full-body scans have been popular among some celebrities: Maria Menounos says she discovered she had pancreatic cancer after the scan; Kim Kardashian called the diagnostic tool a “life saver”; and Selling Sunset star Mary Bonnet said the scan helped her discover why she struggled with fatigue and miscarriages for so long.

Prenuvo scans also come at a hefty price: a 30-minute torso scan is $999, a 45-minute trunk and head scan is $1,799, and a 60-minute full-body scan is $2,499.
