Jason Kelce Signed His Jersey for His Regular McDonald’s Employee After Addressing Retirement Rumors

Jason Kelce had a special gift to thank a McDonald’s employee.

On Wednesday, the Philadelphia Eagles center, 36, visited his local fast food restaurant to give employee Danielle Bonham a personalized gift, according to Fox 29 Pennsylvania.

The NFL star signed his No. 62 jersey with a message to Bonham. “For Danielle. Go Birds! Thank you!” Kelce wrote, according to a publish on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Bonham shared a picture of herself holding a T-shirt and smiling as a harried-looking Kelce peers out of a car window.

The NFL star is a regular at Bonham’s McDonald’s, meaning she “has had the pleasure of serving the Eagles star sausage, egg and cheese quite a few times,” per Fox 29 Pennsylvania. She shared several selfies from various encounters with Kelce, who has been her favorite player “for many years,” with a group of Philadelphia Eagles fans on Facebook.

In one post from around Christmas, she shared a photo with Kelce and wrote that the two talked about the holiday and being thankful for each other.

“I thanked him for everything he does for the community. He turned and thanked me for always being kind,” she wrote. “He said you are one of the best people working for this corporation. I almost cried.”

The sweet gift comes after Kelce responded to rumors that he would retire from the NFL following Monday’s loss.

“I just don’t think you’re in a position after a game like that to really, you know, make a decision like that. You just don’t,” Jason said. “There’s too much emotion at this point. Too much is falling in the moment to really fully understand that decision.”

“I’m not trying to be dramatic to keep dragging this thing out,” he added. “I really didn’t.”

While he neither confirmed nor denied expressing his intention to retire to his teammates, Jason did share some details about what was said after the game — a speech that many interpreted as a hint of his retirement. “I turned to the team and almost said, ‘Me [believe] in each of you guys,” he recalled. “Cherish your moments in this league.’ ”

Kelce appeared visibly distraught as he left the field after Philadelphia lost 32-9 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the trade game.

During the last game, Kelce hugged his longtime offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland. Then Kelce fought back tears and looked for his family, including wife Kylie Kelce and father Ed Kelce, in the stands.
