Jason Momoa’s new romance is the “real” deal.
A source exclusively told PEOPLE that Momo’s relationship with actress Adria Arjona is “sincere.” Momoa, 44, went public with their relationship in an Instagram post on Monday, May 20.
“He cares about her. It’s real,” says the source. “She’s good to him — and she’s a lovely and genuine person and real like him. She has a good sense of humor and is easy to get along with. They bond with each other.”

The Aquaman star confirmed that he is “very much in a relationship” during an appearance at the Comic Con festival in Basingstoke, England, on Saturday (May 11).
Although he didn’t reveal Arjona’s name at the time, a video of the event shared on X, formerly Twitter, shows him teasing that her identity will be revealed “soon”. Momoa would later feature photos of him and Arjona in a post about his travels to Japan.

“Japan, you are a dream come true, you blew me away. We are very grateful to everyone who opened their homes, making memories with new friends and old friends, sharing another amazing adventure with my love. NA ROAM motorcycles and mayhem. Congratulations,” wrote Momoa in the description.
Among the photos of Momoa playing guitar and riding motorcycles with friends was a photo of him and his new girlfriend, 32, laughing in front of the water and cuddling in a restaurant.
Like Momoa, Arojona has been involved in various projects including Father of the bride, Good signs, Andorra, and Morbius. Her next project is Netflix killer, where he stars alongside Glen Powell.

Momo’s new romance comes five months after he and Lisa Bonet finalized their divorce last January. The former couple married in 2017 and announced their separation in January 2022. They have a daughter, Lola, 16, and a son, Nakoa-Wolf, 15.
“I spent a lot of time with them when they were younger, which is really important,” Momoa said while talking about his children in an interview with PEOPLE in March.

“Back then, they traveled a lot with me. But now, when they go to high school, they have their friends and stuff like that,” he joked. “They still like me, which is good. I’m probably losing my cool factor every day.”
