Jason Momoa hopes the love for Aquaman won’t fade away.
“I love this character and [I would want to] play it long,” said the actor in an interview with Party tonight ahead of the upcoming DC movie sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which sees him reprise his title role as the superhero five years after the original film.
“If the audience likes it, then there is a possibility,” he also said of future installments. “But right now, I’m like, ‘It doesn’t look very good.’ ”
As ET James Gunn and Peter Safran were named co-chairmen and co-CEOs of DC Studios last year. And as Momoa told the outlet, “If there’s a place for me in their world, I’d love to be a part of it.”
“This is my home. Warner and DC are definitely my home,” he added.

Momoa also said ET that he “kind of sees where” he’d like the Aquaman character to “go,” adding, “And even in the next 10 years or so, like there’s a lot of cool things I can do.”
“And I’m enjoying the role and the world. So I think it just comes down to whether people like it,” he noted Game of Thrones alum.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom follows Arthur Curry’s Momoin, aka Aquaman, as Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) returns for another attempt at revenge on Atlantis. Patrick Wilson returns as Aquaman’s half-brother, who teams up with him to stop Black Manta.
The synopsis for the new film says that Black Manta “unleashes an ancient and malevolent force” by taking up the mythical trident as a weapon in the sequel.
“To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former king of Atlantis, to form an unlikely alliance,” it added. “Together they must put aside their differences to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family and the world from irreversible destruction.”
In a recent interview with E! News, Momoa opened up about how fans will get to see a new side of Arthur Curry in the upcoming film, as the character is now a husband and father.
“These are all things that I have never done in the last four films that I have done,” the actor said. “I say, ‘People need to see this side of him.’ ”
“That was my request and I think people will really like it,” Momoa added.
With James Wan returning as director and a script by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, the film also stars Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Amber Heard as Aquaman’s wife Mera and more.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is in theaters on Friday.
