Jay’s family has made an emotional request for donations to the LBT Global charity in lieu of flowers.
A statement on the new fundraising website reads: “Jay’s family have asked for donations in memory of Jay to LBT Global, the charity that helped them with the tragic loss of Jay in Tenerife.
“All donations will go directly to support families in similar situations.”
The purpose-built donation site is designed to raise funds to support other families and to combat online trolling and misinformation targeting victims and families of missing persons.
Mourners who wish to make a donation can do so here remembering-jay.raiselysite.com.
It came after online bullies criticized Jay’s mum Debbie Duncan and other family members for encouraging people to donate to a GoFundMe page set up when Jay went missing.
In a statement posted on Thursday on the ‘Get Jay Slater Home’ GoFundMe page, Debbie said: “Hello everyone, thank you for all your kindness, support and condolences in light of the tragic news that Jay’s body has been found.
“We are overwhelmed with sadness and very grateful for your support.”
The teenager’s body was returned to the UK last week along with Debbie, 55, Jay’s dad Warren, 58, and brother Zak, 24, who had all traveled back.
It came after a British post mortem found that Jay’s death was instantaneous, caused by traumatic head injuries consistent with a fall from a height.
The exact spot where Jay Slater fell to his death has been identified for the first time by a team of searchers in Tenerife
The teenager’s funeral is now scheduled for Saturday, August 10 at the chapel at Accrington Crematorium near Jay’s hometown of Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire.
Funeral expenses are to be covered by a GoFundMe page set up by Jay’s friend Lucy Mae Law in the days after he first went missing.
Fundraising has soared past £70,000 with more than 5,600 donations.
Ahead of the funeral, Jay’s family released a moving obituary which read: “In loving memory of Jay Dean Slater, of Fountains Way, Oswaldtwistle, who passed away unexpectedly on Monday 17 June 2024 while on holiday in Tenerife, at the age of 19.
“Loving son of Debbie and Warren, beloved brother of Zak and brother-in-law of Jessica, precious grandson of Dawn, June and the late Dougie, beloved nephew of Glen and Katie, dear cousin of Maddie and Tillie and loyal friend to many.
“Jay will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
“Family flowers only please, but if anyone wants to bring just one rose to Jay’s they are more than welcome (no bouquet).”
Jay’s body was tragically found at the bottom of a treacherous ravine in Masca – four weeks after he went missing while on holiday with his friends for the NRG music festival.

The apprentice bricklayer traveled to a remote Airbnb in the village of Masca, in the north of the island, with two men he met on vacation.
It was about an hour’s drive from Playa de las Americas where he partied the night away.
On the morning of June 17, he attempted the 11-hour walk back to his own accommodation.
Jay made a tragic final phone call to his friend Lucy to tell her he was lost, needed water and only had one percent of battery on his phone.
It was the last time Jay was heard from and a massive search mission was launched.
Timeline of Jay Slater’s disappearance
The DISTURBING discovery of the body came after weeks of agony for Jay’s friends and family. Here’s how the events unfolded:
June 16: Jay and his friends party on the last day of the NRG music festival at the Papagayo nightclub in Playa de la Americas, Tenerife.
June 17:
- 3-6am: Jay leaves with Ayub Qassim and another man for a £40-a-night Airbnb 14 miles away in the village of Masca.
- 7.30am: Jay shares a photo on Snapchat of himself standing in the doorway of an Airbnb.
- 8.50am: Calls friend Lucy Mae Law and says he’s “lost in the middle of nowhere” with no water, a cut on his leg and one per cent battery on his phone.
June 18: Friends search the area, but there is no sign of Jay. Local police and mountain rescue teams begin an official search. Jay’s mother Debbie Duncan is flying to Tenerife.
June 19-20: Spanish police send in drones, dogs and a helicopter, but find no trace. The search moves to Los Cristianos due to a possible sighting that was later ruled out. They return to Rural de Teno, near Masca.
June 21: Lancashire Police offer support but are refused.
June 22: Mum Debbie makes an appeal to Jay, saying: “We just need you home.”
June 24: Sighting claims in Santiago del Teide — near where Jay disappeared. His family believe the grainy CCTV image could be him.
June 25: Debbie urges Jay to come home as more friends fly in and TV sleuth Mark Williams-Thomas joins the search.
June 29: Officers man Mr Qassim and another man on the Airbnb Jay stayed before he disappeared, outside of the investigation.
June 30: Spanish police officially suspend the hunt, but say the investigation “remains open.” His family continues the search.
July 15: A helicopter search team found a body near where his phone last pinged. His possessions were discovered next to human remains. Spanish police say it points to an “accidental fall”.
July 17: Tenerife authorities confirm that a body has been found in the mountainous area of the island of Jayevo.
August 3: Jay’s heartbroken mother discovers her son’s body was flown back to the UK a week earlier.
August 4: An autopsy in the UK confirms that Jay’s death was caused by traumatic head injuries.
Jay’s family stayed in Santiago del Teide, the capital of the region according to Masca, during the hunt.
Jay’s dad Warren and brother Zak spent weeks scouring the unforgiving terrain.
They spent days retracing his steps alone in the scorching heat after the Spanish police called off the search.
But his body was finally discovered by a helicopter crew on July 15 at the bottom of a ravine near where his cellphone rang for the last time.
Tributes and flowers poured in in the days after Jay’s body was found.
