Jeannie Mai Jenkins Breaks Silence After Jeezy Divorce Filing: ‘Need to Take a Break and Disconnect to Heal’

Jeannie Mai Jenkins has broken her silence after her husband Jeezy filed for divorce last month.

On Wednesday, Really host (44) shared her first post on Instagram since the rapper (46) filed for divorce on September 14, 2023 after two and a half years of marriage.

The post included the words, “Sometimes, you need to take a break and switch off to heal yourself,” written in a notebook in black ink. The message was signed with a heart, while Jenkins also captioned the post with a single black heart emoji.

Jeezy filed for divorce in Atlanta, Georgia, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE. The filing states that the couple is “currently living in a bona fide state of separation” and that their marriage is “irretrievably broken” with “no hope of reconciliation.”

The former couple married in March 2021 at their home in Atlanta. They had a daughter, Monaco, in January 2022.

The divorce document states that Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, wants to share joint legal custody of Monaco.

The “Put On” artist is also the father of a son, Jadarius Dykes, who was born in 1996, with Tynesha Dyke, and a daughter, Amra Nor Jenkins, who was born in 2014 to Jeezy and his then-partner, Mahlet “Mahi” Gebremedhin.

Just a week before filing for divorce, Jenkins praised Jeezy for making it The New York Times Best Seller List for his book, Trouble for sale.

Along with a sweet video of their daughter Monaco, Jenkins wrote on Instagram: “Today I’m celebrating an incredible milestone for my husband, @jeezy, whose memoir ‘Adversity For Sale’ jumped to The New York Times list of best-selling books.”
