Now director Joachim Rønning is taking over the series. Creation: Ares, a new series starring Jared Leto, chronicles the journey of computer program Ares as he attempts to leave the digital world. Bridges reprized his role as Kevin Flynn in the 2010 sequel, but it’s unclear whether he will return in the new film.

After Kevin’s son Sam (Garrett Hedlund) is downloaded to the Grid Tron: Chronicles, he realized that Kevin was still alive in this virtual world. However, Bridges not only plays Kevin in the film, but also provides the voice and likeness of Clu, an artificial intelligence program that serves as the main villain (Clu’s physical performance was brought to life by John Reardon ).Since Bridges essentially played two different characters in the previous film, it’s possible Creation: Ares Will do something similar, Bridges will not necessarily return as Flynn.
