Jenn Tran Reacts to Those Jonathan Dating Rumors as She Admits Her 'Heart' Is 'Not in the Space to Date Anybody' (Exclusive)

Jenn Tran reacts to rumors that she is dating Jonathan Johnson.

Former bachelor, 26, caught up with PEOPLE for the season 33 premiere Dancing with the stars, opening up about her love life right now after Jonathan was seen supporting her from the audience. Responding to rumors that the two are the same after Jonathan said he would say “yes” if Jenn asks him out on the show’s September 10 episode Viall files, Jenn says she’s not — and that she’s not ready for a relationship right now.

“Honestly, Jonathan has been such an amazing friend to me and it’s great to have someone here in LA to support me and be such a rock for me,” she said. “And my heart just isn’t in the space right now to date anyone, let alone Jonathan.”

She then teases, “But I’m so excited to see where our friendship goes.”

Jonathan, 28, sat in the front row, cheering Jenn on as she performed her first dance of the season, flanked by Bachelor Nation Susie Evans and Justin Glaze and love is blind’with Chloe Veitch. Jenn says she has a community from Bachelor was helpful after the drama of calling off the engagement with Devin Strader.

“[It feels] so good,” she admits. Bachelor People. So I couldn’t be more grateful, truly.”

She also found support in her DWTS family, and partner Sasha Farber added, “I went into the show to have a great dance partner, and I came out with my best friend.”

As for what this first dance looked like, Jenn used a Taylor Swift song (something she did for every week bachelor) to match the energy of the episode.

“‘Fearless’, because I dive headfirst into the dance,” she says.

Jenn joined the cast DWTS just hours after discovering that her ex-fiancé, Devin, had broken up with her. At the time, she shared that Devin “regretted getting engaged,” and later told PEOPLE that his lack of emotion on After the Final Rose struck a chord with her.

“At this point, I was just thinking about the things that were important to me,” she says. “And what was important to me was the fact that he didn’t respect our whole relationship after that.”

“Like I said, I can sit here and try to figure out why someone would change their mind after saying all those crazy, crazy declarations of love, but also sit here and disrespect the whole relationship by doing things that you know will hurt me, and to do things that are just disrespectful to me, that’s the next level of crazy,” she continues.

A few days later, Jenn and Jonathan, who went home after Fantasy Suites, reunited and posted a TikTok together.

“All good, no offense,” he wrote on Sept. 7 in an Instagram post accompanied by a TikTok post in which the two joked about how Jenn “broke [Jonathan’s] heart.”

The two then appeared together at PEOPLE’s 50th birthday party, sharing a red carpet photo on Sept. 13 with Jack Harlow’s “Already Best Friends” playing in the background.

“The song speaks for itself,” Jonathon wrote in the description.

Dancing with the stars and Bachelor both can be streamed on Hulu, with new episodes Dancing with the stars airs Tuesdays at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.
