Jenna Bush Hager Recalls Losing a Stone from Her Engagement Ring After Savannah Guthrie’s 50th: ‘Never Found’

Jenna Bush Hager’s engagement ring lacks some sparkle.

Monday, September 16 episode Today with Hoda and JennaBush Hager, 42, recalled a jewelry mishap that happened after a colleague Today Broadcaster Savannah Guthrie’s 50th Birthday Celebration 2022

“Did you ever hear the story about Savannah’s 50th birthday, when I woke up the next morning and one stone fell out of my engagement ring?” she told her co-host Hoda Kotb.

Bush Hager went on to say that she’s “not really sure” where the rock went and worries about telling her husband, Henry Chase Hager.

“I was also panicking like, ‘Should I tell Henry now, as soon as I wake up? Or should I tell him after he’s maybe eaten something.’ I just said, you have to tell him right away, and he was…”

This is not the first time that the presenter has an incident with an engagement ring.

During the episode Today in April, Bush Hager shared how he lost his ring at John F. Kennedy Airport on his way to a shoot, according to Brides.

“I was stressed. I come to the shoot and look around,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Oh no, I had a whole bag of jewelry.'”

When a member of the talk show’s security team contacted the airport, it was revealed that the ring had been found and handed over.

“Some nice man I’ve never met put him back in insurance,” Bush Hager recalled, before admitting she didn’t tell her husband. “I couldn’t even tell Henry because if I lost our engagement ring, it’s priceless. So I kept the secret from Henry as well, which was difficult.”

Bush Hager met her husband in 2004 when he worked for her father, former President George W. Bush. They got engaged in 2007 and married in May 2008. Together they have three children: daughters Mila, 11, and Poppy, 9, and son Hal, 5. Bush Hager isn’t the only TV host to lose her engagement ring this year. On January 7, E! News correspondent and Lady Gang podcast Keltie Knight, 42, lost the diamond stone from her 10-year anniversary ring on the 2024 Golden Globes red carpet.

“If you’re a celebrity and you see a 4-carat diamond on the red carpet, bring it back to Keltie Knight in E!” she said in a video released that night “Because it’s gone and, um… it’s real.”

Knight says the Globes incident – better known as “Diamondgate” – made her feel like an “absolute fool”.

“Losing the diamond was hard, but it’s even worse to realize it wasn’t put on our insurance,” she tells PEOPLE, which made the situation even more upsetting. But Knight’s story had a happy (and glittering) ending. Fine jewelry brand With Clarity reached out to Knight and offered to exchange her ring.
