The odds may not be in your favor Hunger Games fans are getting more from Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen.
Although the actress recently said she would be open to revisiting the character — which she played in 2012. Hunger Games and its three sequels, based on the book series by Suzanne Collins — producer Nina Jacobson says that Katniss’ reappearance in a future installment will depend on the author.
“If Suzanne has something to say, she’s going to write a book about it,” Jacobson, 58, said in an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment announced the upcoming release of the prequel film on Tuesday The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakesbased on the 2020 novel by Collins.
“Honestly, as much as I love Katniss, I think her story is complete,” the producer added. “And I think Suzanne feels her story is complete.”
“But if that changes and Suzanne has something to say that involves Katniss, then I’d be thrilled,” Jacobson added. “But really, there is a chance for me to come back to this world and lead it [director Francis Lawrence] and Suzanne, I’d take it no matter who it was.”

Lawrence, 52, agrees, telling Yahoo! Entertainment of Collins, 61, “If for whatever reason she had some thematic idea that would make sense to tell another Katniss story, I’d be all for it, and then I’m sure Jen would be all for it.”
“But actually everything comes from the theme and the idea and Suzanne,” added the director.
While promoting her comedy No anger in June, Lawrence, 33, said Diversity she would be “totally” open to reprising her role as Katniss.
“Oh, my God—totally!” – said the Oscar winner when asked if she would ever want to pick up her character’s bow and arrow again. “If Katniss could ever come back into my life, 100%.”
