Jennifer Lopez 'Lived Like a Local' During Her Italy Vacation with Friends: Source

Jennifer Lopez embraced “la movida” during her vacation in Italy, a local source tells PEOPLE.

The Satin star, 54, recently enjoyed a postcard-perfect vacation on the Amalfi Coast without husband Ben Affleck amid reports of strain in their marriage.

“She lived like a local, sat away from her safety and immersed herself in the local scene,” says the source, referring to the originally Spanish term for the lively scene and late-night partying that Italy is known for, especially in the summer.

“She’s been to a lot of local restaurants,” the source added, “not just the best high-end ones, but very typical local restaurants.”

Among the restaurants Lopez visited on her trip were La Gavitella in Praiano, beach favorite Lo Scoglio in Nerano and Ristorante Da Vincenzo in Positano.

At Da Vincenzo, Lopez originally intended to sit at a table inside with more privacy, but upon arrival she opted for outdoor seating, says a source: “She wanted a table outside on the street, so in the middle of people passing by, cars passing by, immersed in the street and life in Positano.”

She spent a similarly relaxed time at La Gavitella, according to another source.

Lopez arrived at the restaurant and club on the beach, which offers a beautiful view of Positano and Capri, by boat with two friends.

“She was relaxed. She ordered, talked and laughed with her friends – says the source. During a late afternoon visit, Lopez opted for the “chef’s specialty” – lobster linguine.

The star’s vacation, which ended with a visit to Paris Fashion Week, comes after Live Nation announced on May 31 that she was taking time “to be with her children, family and close friends and that she would be canceling her planned concert tour due to what sources said were tensions in her marriage to Affleck.

The couple, who recently put their $61 million Beverly Hills home on the market, were spotted together in LA on Wednesday (June 26). They were photographed separately entering the same building in West Hollywood, where both Affleck and Lopez have offices.
