‘Jersey Shore’: Ronnie’s Apology Brings the Roommates to Tears in ‘Family Vacation’ (Exclusive)

PEOPLE has an exclusive first look Jersey Shore: Family Vacation‘with mid-season trailer, featuring the return of Ronnie Ortiz-Magro. As Ronnie tries to make amends with the housemates he feels he wronged, they couldn’t be more emotional about his teary-eyed apology.

But first, the trailer shows Deena Nicole Cortese, Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchia,” Jenna “JWOWW” Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Angelina Pivarnick, and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi welcoming housemate Sammi back “ Sweetheart” Giancoli, along with introducing her boyfriend Justin May. Admittedly, she is “totally nervous” to bring Justin around Jersey Shore family.

“I don’t want any bad vibes or old guys,” Giancola, 36, says in a foreboding confessional as we cut to Mike, 41, lying in bed with his wife, Lauren Sorrentino, phone in hand, as he tells her, “Ron he just texted me, said he was on his way.”

As we see a clip of the group sitting at a table, it appears that they have been informed of Ronnie’s imminent arrival. The disbelief among them is palpable.

“Oh my God,” says Deena, while Vinny, 35, claims, “Bring him on.”

Then we see the elevator doors slide open and a dejected Ronnie, 37, enters. As the gang gathers around the table, he tearfully tells them: “I want to start by apologizing.” Nicole (35) and Angelina (37) then burst into tears.

“Last year I lost a lot of what I love,” continues the father of one, who now has full custody of his daughter with ex-girlfriend Jen Harley.

Along with Ronnie’s emotional reunion, elsewhere in the trailer, we see the gang continue to bond with Sammi, marking her return to Jersey Shore at the beginning of this year after an 11-year break.

“Samantha, we’re initiating you,” Nicole tells her in one clip as she pours red wine into a plastic glass.

We also see another shot of prankster Pauly D, 43, decorating Samma’s bedroom with bedsheets emblazoned with the infamous message from the original series.

In the latest trailer for “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation,” Giancola said she doesn’t want the “old guys to show up.”

Fans may remember the Season 2 episode Jersey Shore which first aired in 2010, in which Jenni and Nicole typed an anonymous letter to Samma informing her that Ronnie was cheating, resulting in a series of verbal and physical altercations between the housemates.

Viewers got a front-row seat to the former couple’s toxic relationship during the six-season run of the original series, which finally ended after five years in 2014.

The latest season returned to MTV in August. A month earlier, Sammi told PEOPLE it was “very nerve-wracking” walking into the house for the first time, after not speaking to any of her former housemates “in 10 years or however long,” adding that she knew her ex Ronnie would be there. “I probably wouldn’t have come back if I’d known he was still on the show, honestly,” she said.

Ronnie left the show in 2021 to work on his mental health and sobriety, opening the door for his ex-girlfriend Sammi’s surprise return to the MTV series this year. He appeared in an episodic episode in 2022 before returning for a surprise appearance in an episode to air in March.
