Jessica Chastain Deletes Tweets Calling Out JetBlue Over $15 After Backlash

Jessica Chastain briefly shared her feelings publicly about a recent disappointment during a flight.

The Maternal instinct actress posted on X (formerly Twitter) about how the in-flight entertainment system malfunctioned during her JetBlue flight and expressed her displeasure with the $15 credit the airline offered for it.

In a now-deleted post from Wednesday. On Oct. 9, on an X shared by Page Six, Chastain, 47, wrote, “Thank you @JetBlue for the $15.00 credit. My flight was $1,500 and the credit is 1/100 of the money I paid you.”

She included a screenshot of an email from JetBlue giving credit.

She continued, “Strange that I paid that for your inflight entertainment system that didn’t work during my 6 hour flight, but I guess it was worth the $15.”

JetBlue X’s account prompted her to DM them to “look into” her problem.

According to a since-deleted post about the exchange between the airline and the actress, JetBlue explained that all passengers were issued $15 for the inconvenience. “I understand, but I spent $1,500 on a flight, and so did my husband,” Chastain replied.

“There should be a flight credit or something because I have a TrueBlue account and have been a loyal customer.”

JetBlue reiterated that regardless of flight member status or the amount of money spent on tickets, every customer will receive the same $15 credit.

Chastain did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Fans online were divided Tammy Faye’s eyes star’s public complaints.

“The funniest thing about Jessica Chastain complaining about only getting a $15 refund for in-flight entertainment that didn’t work on her Jet Blue flight is that she was flying with her husband,” one person wrote, adding: “Is 6 o’clock together so awful that you’re losing it because you have no movies to watch?”

Others told her to “read the room” and called her “disgraceful”, per Page six.

Still, some users praised her for calling out the airline.

“I know everyone is slamming Jessica Chastain, but hush, I think it’s good for a celebrity to publicly complain,” one person said. “Airlines have absolutely no responsibility when it comes to customer service, experience or even basics like BEING ON TIME.”

“Many of you would tweet exactly like Jessica Chastain if you were her level of celebrity. I know it deep down,” joked another.

“The only benefit of verification was being able to @ big companies when they’ve done you wrong, and I’m glad Jessica Chastain is keeping that art form alive,” added a third.

JetBlue’s in-flight entertainment usually includes live TV, movies and music.

According to their website, JetBlue is “the only US airline with screens in every seat.” Its current featured offerings include Inside Out 2, The Fall Guy and Abigail.
