Jessica Simpson Shares the Reason Daughter Maxwell Won't Wear Her Shoes – and What She'll Do with Them Instead

“She’s going to make some art with them,” the pop star said of her eldest daughter using her mother’s handiwork

Jessica Simpson beams with pride when it comes to the creative future of her daughter Maxwell “Maxi” Drew Johnson.

Before accepting the Icon Award at the 37th Annual Footwear News Achievement Awards on Wednesday night at Cipriani South Street in New York, Simpson, 43, told Extra that Maxwell’s shoe size had long since outgrown hers. However, Maxwell has a creative solution to the surrender dilemma.

“My oldest daughter is 11 and a size 10… so she outgrew me a long time ago… I have all these shoes saved for her, but yes, she’ll probably use them as a purse, knowing her. They will turn them into some amazing piece of art or make a piece of art with them,” she explained.

Simpson said she still has a good idea of how to put more of her extra stuff to good use.

“I have Birdie and she could have a minor situation. If not, I’ll put her foot in them when she’s six, just in case, because I didn’t with Maxwell.”

“They say, ‘What is that?’ Are you getting the glass slipper?'” Simpson said Extra. “I thought, ‘Maybe I’ll get the glass slipper.’ ”
