Jim Obazee Wikipedia, Wiki, Biography, Profile – Jim Obazee, who was sacked as the Executive Secretary of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC) on Monday, has a history of controversy. Since being hired in November 2010, Obazee has never shown any distaste for controversy.

He may have lost his job as a result of the latest dispute he was involved in regarding the application of the corporate governance code.

He was reappointed as FRC Executive Secretary in 2015 for a further four-year term ending in 2018.

He has been charged with numerous crimes, including sexual harassment and insubordination.

In addition, he had a strained relationship with the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah, who asked him to suspend the law, but he refused.

HIS FATHER ACCUSES HIM OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT

In 2013, one Abimbola Yakubu, his personal assistant of three years, accused Obazee of sexual harassment. However, he denied that claim.

In a letter to the FRC board, Yakubu claimed that Obazee often threatened her with dismissal if she did not give in to his excitable behaviour.

“During the years I worked with him, I was constantly closing late at 10pm and sometimes even later. I have always been very committed, dedicated and faithful to my duties. I have never shown any form of disobedience. I noticed that the executive secretary’s attitude towards me changed at the beginning of this year,” she said.

I met with him on several occasions and asked him what I did wrong, but he never answered. Instead, he yelled and screamed at me, screaming things like, “When I’m done with you, you’re going to cry” and “When I’m done with you, you’re going to hang yourself.” I therefore withdrew and remained to myself. He persisted in this attitude towards me, refused to communicate with me and delegated tasks that I should be doing to my subordinates.

“As a civil servant, I finish quite late at night, not because we have a lot of work, but because then it is most convenient for him to tell me how much he loves me.

He checks that everyone has left the building before approaching us with his requests. I thank God for the understanding husband I was able to marry.

In addition, from the very beginning of the promotion, I told my husband about every sexual gesture and request he made. My husband is well aware of what is happening, but he still believes in me. Even after I informed the executive secretary that my husband was aware of his actions, he told me that there is no such thing as trust and that all men are envious and would never let their wives go through that.

He would occasionally contact me very late at night to let me know he was on his way to my hotel when we were sleeping in other places, like when we were in Abuja.

She continued, saying Obazee later transferred her to a corner office in Kaduna where she “suffered” and eventually fired her. Despite the allegations, Obazee was not given an investigation. He vehemently dismissed them, claiming that Yakubu was fired because of her record of poor performance at work.
