Jimmy Fallon Is Launching a New Haunted House at 30 Rock

NBC will turn its iconic 30 Rockefeller Plaza building into a haunted house this October — and Jimmy Fallon is the face of the new attraction.

On Friday, Aug. 16, NBCUniversal announced that the team behind Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios theme parks has designed an all-new haunted house experience for fans, called “Jimmy Fallon’s Nightmares,” according to a press release shared with PEOPLE.

The haunted maze is set to open in September and will feature “10 terrifying rooms” themed around Tonight’s show the host’s nightmares.

Produced in part by NBCUniversal Global Franchise Management Group, the haunted maze will bring to life “nightmares in a fully immersive haven with terrifying sets, practical effects and scares around every corner.”

“Tonightmares has everything you need to get a big scare this Halloween,” Fallon said in a statement. “I’m not saying it has killer scarecrows, brain-hungry zombies, and an abandoned gas station in the middle of nowhere. But… it has… killer scarecrows, brain-hungry zombies, and an abandoned gas station in the middle of nowhere. Spoiler alert.”

Fallon also announced a Halloween-themed event during The Tonight’s show on Thursday 15.8.

“A little background story,” he began. “So, down at Universal Studios Orlando, every year they do this thing called Halloween Horror Nights. They go all out for Halloween. Decorations, zombies walking around, crazy haunted houses. It’s awesome.”

“I was thinking — we should do it here,” Fallon continued during the episode. “We’ve been working on this for years. It’s a brand new haunted maze, and it’s terrifying, and it’s right here at 30 Rock in midtown Manhattan.”

According to the event’s website, the maze lasts about 10 minutes once entered, and participants will have to “flee from a deranged and diabolical mad scientist, malfunctioning killer robots, a terrifying werewolf, and other nightmarish creatures.” The website also warns that the maze may not be suitable for children under 14.

Events such as the Haunted Maze and Halloween Horror Nights celebrations at NBCUniversal’s theme parks have become significant for the company, David O’Connor, president of franchise management and brand strategy, added in a statement.
