Joanna Gaines Uses Magnolia Magic to Transform Her Farmhouse into Winter Wonderland Ahead of Christmas

Joanna Gaines spent the weekend doing what she does best: decorating!

The The upper part of the fixator star, 45, shared a video on Instagram on Saturday as she picked up various seasonal decorations from Magnolia Market to get her farmhouse ready for Christmas.

“I did some shopping at @Magnolia Market and spent yesterday getting the farm ready for the holidays ✨,” she wrote in the caption, adding that she created a collection of products she chose for her family’s home to make it easier for followers to find decor if they wanted to replicate her choices festive design.

Gaines’ decor included several seasonal wreaths on the front door and exterior walls of her family home, as well as a wreath on the mantle β€” the perfect accent for the stockings that also hung there.

She also put up a Christmas tree, decorated with twinkling lights, white and silver light bulb ornaments, and an antique brass collar around the base.

In addition, the mother of five added a few small touches around the house, including a stack of Christmas books, some scented candles and a cozy blanket on the couch.

Gaines completed the decor β€” and the video β€” with a framed portrait of one of her sons, who was all smiles as he sat on Santa’s lap in the adorable shot.

While her seasonal makeover of her stunning farmhouse in Waco, Texas was impressive, it didn’t actually mark the first Christmas decor to appear in the home β€” her 5-year-old son, Crew, beat her to it!

Last weekend, Joanna shared a video of her youngest child – who she shares with husband Chip Gaines – taking down the Halloween decorations he had in his bedroom and replacing them with Christmas decorations, including his own faux Christmas tree.

In the video, Crew strung lights around the tree and got down on his hands and knees to turn them on and illuminate the decor.

She also shared a video of him hanging ornaments from the branches of the tree, as well as some other decorations in his room, including several miniature Christmas houses and candy cane bears.

“Christmas in Crew’s room. He was ready for itπŸŽ„ (pre-lit trees are awkward when they don’t light upπŸ˜…),” the proud mom captioned her video.

Joanna and Chip also have sons Drake, 18, and Duke, 15, and daughters Ella, 16, and Emmie, 13.

Joanna recently opened up about her close relationship with her children.

“I know I’m their mother, but they just feel like friends,” Jenni Bush Hager said on Today with Hoda and Jenna earlier this month as she described her crew of “four teenagers”.

“It’s just a sweet season where the older they get, there’s just a connection. Like, I want to hang out with them,” she shared. “And then a five-year-old, it just helps with perspective. Like, hold on tight. They grow up really fast.”

Joanna also spoke with Hager, 41, about celebrating 20 years of her and Chip’s home and lifestyle empire, Magnolia, saying “the idea that was in our hearts like a dream was just a little shop that he was renovating in town.”

“Something much simpler,” Chip, 49, noted.

He added that they are now taking a moment to step back and look back on 20 years of success β€” which includes their own TV network, several brands, a restaurant, market and hotel in Waco and, of course, their hit HGTV series.

“It’s like, ‘Wow, man β€” a lot happened.’ And you really didn’t have time to stop and really smell the roses while that was happening. But now, for whatever reason, we really feel like we’re in a really nice place.”
