Jodie Sweetin, an American actress, married her longtime companion Mescal Wasilewski. According to People magazine, Jodie tied the knot in the backyard of her Malibu home on July 30. At the ceremony were Candace Cameron Bure, Andrea Barber and John Stamos, as well as the 40-year-old star’s two children, Zoie (14) and Beatrix (11) and other Full House castmates. Sweetin wore a Lili Bridals dress to her wedding and walked down the aisle with her father, Sam, in front of a small crowd of 50 people. As she exchanged vows with Mescal Wasilewski, her daughters stood by her side. Guests, along with the cast of Full House, reportedly enjoyed tacos, guacamole bars, cakes and dessert after the couple said their “I do’s.”
Mescal Wasilewski and Jodie Sweetin have been in a relationship for five years.
Before deciding to spend the rest of their lives together, Jodie Sweetin and Mescal Wasilewski were longtime friends. They met for the first time in 2017 after mutual friends introduced them. According to the Daily Mail, the couple met at a concert in Brooklyn on their first date and began a long-distance romance shortly after. Jodie Sweetin and Mescal Wasilewski kept their romance going by traveling between Los Angeles and New York. Until Mescal decided to move to California in 2020.
Sweetin praised Wasilewski’s efforts in their long-distance relationship on the Allison Interviews podcast.
“My boyfriend and I have been together for four years and he’s done a great job with everything.” He and I had a long distance relationship at first. He was in Brooklyn when I was there [Los Angeles] three and a half years, and it was casual and comfortable.”
The couple confirmed their engagement two years later, in January 2022. In an interview with People magazine in April, the actress expressed her delight at the new chapter in her life.
“We have such a strong bond. He’s knowledgeable and funny, and he’s my biggest fan. It’s really wonderful.”
She also mentioned how close her current husband was to her children.
“He adores my children, which is really important. I remember suddenly thinking, ‘I want something very different from what I wanted [in a relationship] 10 years ago,’ and it made things so easy.”
Jodie Sweetin is walking down the aisle for the fourth time, not the first. In 2002, she married Shaun Holguin for the first time. They were married for four years before divorcing in 2006. Jodie later married transportation coordinator Cody Herpin in 2007. A year later, they had their first and only child, a baby girl named Zoie. Sweetin and Herpin divorced in 2010. In 2012, Jodie married DJ Morty Coyle from Los Angeles for the third time, and was a bridesmaid for the third time. Beatrix, the couple’s 11-year-old daughter, is their only child. However, their marriage was short-lived, and they divorced four years later, in 2016.
