Joe Jonas hasn’t worn his purity ring in years, but he still “triggered” it.
The singer, 35, kicked off the new year with a quick look back at the fashion accessory – which the Jonas Brothers wore as a symbol of their commitment to abstinence from sex and was practically synonymous with the band in their early 2000s days. .
“When someone complains to me, but they’ve never had to wear a piece of jewelry to let everyone know they’re innocent,” Jonas wrote on TikTok on Jan. 3, which features him playing along to the popular TikTok soundtrack.
“I don’t even think you really know what a bad day is,” he mouthed over a voiceover of Russell Crowe’s character in his 2020 film. Unhinged.

And, in the caption, Joe added, “Powered by extras.”
The singer – who rocked the rings alongside his bandmates and brothers Nick, 32, and Kevin Jonas, 37 – also responded to several comments, including one person who wrote that they “never expected” to mention purity rings. His response? “😏😏😏😏.”

Joe also responded to several users who reminisced with him about his purity ring era — and he didn’t hold back.
“Is it bad that I wanted one [because] of yall,” one user wrote, to which he simply replied, “Yes.”

“I remember the priest at my church talking about what good role models you are for wearing them 😭,” said another, who responded with an emoticon: “😖.”
He even referred to the comment about 2009 South Park episode, “The Ring,” which poked fun at the brothers’ decision to wear rings.
“Wait, I just showed mine [boyfriend] South Park purity ring scene 🤣🤣🤣,” read one comment. And, giving his stamp of approval, Joe replied: “That episode is a slap in the face.”

Joe’s latest TikTok isn’t the first time he’s discussed his iconic ring.
In 2022, the singer shared a duet on TikTok with a viral video of a large group asking the camera, “Are you a virgin?” – and added a throwback picture of himself, Nick and Kevin next to her.
“Me and my brothers literally did anything in our teenage years,” he wrote above the clip.
