Joe Manganiello Goes on Coffee Date with Caitlin O’Connor and His Beloved Dog Bubbles

Joe Manganiello is a proud dog dad!

The actor, 47, was spotted carrying his beloved dog Bubbles while grabbing coffee with girlfriend Caitlin O’Connor in Los Angeles on Friday.

Both were dressed casually for the date, with Manganiello sporting black shorts, a Versace tracksuit and sunglasses. O’Connor was wearing a gray sweater, ankle-length sweatpants and sandals.

Manganiello shared during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show in November 2022 that Bubbles is “very protective” and is the first dog he’s ever owned. “I was always traveling and working so much it was ridiculous. I couldn’t have a dog,” he told Clarkson.

The Magic Mike XXL Starr said he adopted the Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix after discovering she was sick.

“She was peeing blood and it turned out she had a cyst that they were worried might be cancer,” he said, expressing that he was happy to have the funds to pay Bubbles’ medical bills. In the episode The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier that year, he spoke about their current relationship.

“I went downstairs, came outside, this little head popped out of her lap and wiggled, ran up to me,” Manganiello recalled. “I pick her up and she starts growling at everyone else, like, ‘Get away from us. This is my man now. That’s it.’

Since then, he and Bubbles have traveled the world together.

In late September, a source told PEOPLE that he and O’Connor were officially “in a relationship,” adding, “They’re both so much fun together. He laughs at her a lot because she’ll make these funny jokes. She’s really funny. So cute and smart. And he’s cool. He’s cool as s—.” The couple made their red carpet debut at the Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) gala in December.

Manganiello was previously married to Sofia Vergara, from whom he filed for divorce in July after seven years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Vergara (51) shared an interview with a Spanish newspaper El País earlier this month that the two weren’t on the same page about expanding their family.

“My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom. I feel like that’s not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does that, but it’s not for me anymore,” Griselda said the star.

On Wednesday, she revealed during a guest appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that her new dating rule is that she will not date anyone who is two years younger than her. The topic of dating came up after she was asked if she would date Bad Bunny, who mentioned her in a song and is 29 years old.

“Well, let’s not go crazy, let’s not go crazy. He is younger than my son Manolo. Manolo is 32 years old,” she said in response.

When asked if she would date someone younger than her son, she said: “For me, they can’t be younger than 50, I’m 51.”
