Joe Manganiello to Host Deal or No Deal Island Spinoff — and It Has a Connection to His Ex Sofía Vergara

NBC announced on Wednesday that it magical mike the actor, 46, will make his game show debut as host of the upcoming Island Agreed or Not Agreed spinoff, which will premiere sometime in 2024.

The announcement video shows longtime host Mandel, 67, literally passing the torch to Manganiello after he jokingly explained that he couldn’t host the show in an “undiscovered island location far from civilization” when he’s a self-proclaimed germaphobe and there will be bugs and snakes.

Then he begins to list the qualifications they are looking for in a new host: “Someone adventurous, someone who likes games, someone good looking like me.”

“Not your average Joe…” he teases just before Manganiello makes a dramatic appearance in the shot.

After Manganiello accepts the “deal” for the host Agreed or not in a classic fashion show, Mandel gives him a briefcase, which contains plane tickets, masks, gloves and grease, according to the comedian.

A little confused by the contents of the briefcase, Manganiello opens it to look inside and says with a smile, “We’re going to have a good time.”

According to an NBC press release, Island Agreed or Not Agreed is “a twist on the classic game where 13 players are transported to the private island of an elusive banker to compete for money in a season-long competition.”

While the contestants will no longer compete on the sound stage, they will still have to endure “thrilling challenges” and “preposterous dilemmas” in their efforts to “beat the banker” for what is potentially the biggest cash prize in the show’s history, per release.

As host, Manganiello will guide the contestants by “running the game, relaying the banker’s enticing offers and helping them make the toughest decisions of their lives,” according to a statement.

“The role of Agreed or not anchor has always been held by someone charming, hilarious and devastatingly handsome,” Corie Henson, executive vice president of unscripted content at NBCUniversal Entertainment, said in a statement.

He added: “When we took the show out of the studio and brought the game to Banker’s Island, Joe was the obvious choice. He loves all kinds of games, lives for adventure and isn’t afraid to stare down a snake or two to help players win a life-changing payout and hopefully beat the banker at his own game.”

“They are both very funny together. He laughs at her a lot because he will make these funny jokes,” said the insider. “She’s really funny. So sweet and smart. And it’s cool. He’s cool as s—.”
