Professional Baseball in Canada Joey Votto made his MLB debut in 2007 with the Cincinnati Reds. He is a six-time MLB All-Star as well as a seven-time Tip O’ Neil Award winner. Votto became the only Canadian MLB player since Larry Walker to hit 300 home runs and 1,000 at-bats in his career. Votto was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on September 10, 1983. Votto grew up in Etobicoke, Ontario, the son of Wendy and Joseph Votto. Tyler Votto, Ryan Votto and Paul Votto are his three siblings that he constantly discusses on social media. His father, who was of Italian and English descent, had a great influence on Votto’s professional choice. His father was a chef and baseball fan who encouraged his son Votto to join the game.
Votto followed in his father’s footsteps and became a lifelong lover of baseball. As a young man he had a poster of Ted Williams on his wall. Unfortunately, Votto’s father passed away in 2008 at the age of 52. This baseball lover started his sports career in high school at Richview Collegiate Institute. This eventually led him to play for the Etobicoke Rangers baseball team while still in high school. Votto signed a National Letter of Intent to play college baseball for the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers after graduating from high school. Later, after joining MBL, he moved to the United States to play and lived in various places such as Florida and Ohio.

Votto is not married, although he is in a long-term relationship with Jeanne Paulus. The baseball star and his girlfriend Jeanne Paulus have been together for almost eight years. Since 2013, the public has been aware of their connection. Votto is said to have met his partner while living in Sarasota, Florida in early 2010. Jeanne is a native of Florida. They hide their relationship on social networks, although they have been seen together in public several times. Votto and his fiancee have been together for some time, although they have yet to tie the knot.
