John Stamos and the cast Full house they remember Bob Saget on the late actor’s birthday.
On Friday, May 17, Stamos, 60, shared a sweet tribute on social media to honor his late costar and friend, who would have celebrated his 68th birthday.

“Happy birthday Boba. This was taken while we were gathering at his funeral,” the caption began.
The black-and-white Instagram photo shows Stamos standing with Full house cast – Dave Coulier, Scott Weinger, Jodie Sweetin and Candace Cameron Bure. The Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, also made a rare appearance.
In addition to the actors in the play, Full house creator Jeff Franklin was also in attendance.
“Although Bob wasn’t physically there, his spirit was unmistakably present, enveloping us in warmth and shared memories that brought both laughter and tears,” Stamos continued in his caption.
The group were seen posing together as they each leaned against a large statue of Dumbo. The image was taken at Stamos’ home, as documented in an April 2021 Instagram post with the same statue.

“On that day, each of us felt the weight of his absence and the strength of the bond he fostered between us. Bob was the heart of our ‘Full House’ family,” Stamos explained.
He added: “His legacy of kindness and compassion was evident in the faces around me, (on Dumbo) in the tender ways we supported each other, reflecting the love he always gave. We celebrated a life that was a real gift for all of us.”

Less than a year apart, Mary-Kate and Ashley, now 37, famously shared the role of Michelle Tanner on Full house from 1987 to 1995.

But when a fuller housespin-off featuring the Tanner sisters as adults debuted in 2016, the twins chose not to reprise their roles.
During a May 2023 episode of The And that’s what you REALLY missed podcast, Stamos admitted that he was initially “angry” about their decision.
“When I did a fuller house, they did not want to return. And I was mad for a second,” Stamos said at the time. “And word got around.”

He added that Saget was “very important” in keeping the cast together. According to Stamos, one positive thing that came out of Saget’s death is that it brought everyone back together, including the twins.

Stamos also joked about the girls who later visited him at his home and brought “pork steak and sage.”
Saget died at the age of 65 after suffering blunt force trauma to the head following a fall at a Florida hotel on January 9, 2022.
