John Travolta and Katherine Heigl This is Love! the director can’t get enough of the actors.
Director Nick Vallelonga gave Diversity news about his upcoming film, described as a musical romantic comedy starring Travolta, 69, and Heigl, 44.
According to the release, the film is about a never-married man, Nick (Travolta), and a woman named Patty, whose personal life prevents him from dating – until the couple meet.
“John and Katherine are fantastic together, and during rehearsals they had so much chemistry,” Vallelonga, 64, said of how the film is progressing.
“We don’t want to hit big production numbers, but I wanted to try something a little different,” he added. “So far we have recorded about seven songs with the whole orchestra, and [Travolta is] just a magical person.”
“One of the numbers is a real throwback to Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly, and we have the whole cast singing ‘That’s Amore’ at one point,” he added. “I think people will absolutely love it.”

Vallelonga won two Oscars in 2019 as screenwriter and producer Green book, which also won the award for best film. He said Diversity he “always had Travolta in mind for the role”. Fat alum plays in the This is Love!
“I got to work with John on a George Gallo movie [The Poison Rose] and I was his replacement a week later Stay aliveso I’ve always been a huge fan of his work,” Vallelonga said. “He just makes you happy when you see him on screen, and I’ve always dreamed of doing this movie with him.”

This is Love! also starring Christopher Walken, Talia Shire, William Fichtner, DB Sweeney and Drea de Mateo.
“During hard times, people need to laugh and they need to go out and enjoy themselves,” the director said Diversity. “That’s what this movie is about. It’s an old-fashioned, old-school movie for all audiences, from 8 to 80. It’s a little risky to do a musical, but we’ve got Travolta, so I’m not too worried.”
