Johnny Tillotson, a singer behind the hit -hit “Poetry on the Move,” died at 86.
Tillotson’s wife, Nancy, confirmed the news of her death in a long post on social networks, the day after he died on Tuesday, April 1st. He died after the diagnosis of Parkinsonism, confirmed Nancy people.
“It is with a broken heart as I write to let you know that he is the sweetest, the sweetest man ever met Johnny Tillotson, he left the earth for heaven yesterday. He was my best loved one, the champion of my empire, the knight of my heart,” Nancy wrote.
“Someone said he was sometimes in the middle of an ordinary life, got a fairy tale. The day I met him I got my own. He was funny, generous and kind,” she continued. “The Lord through and through. He loved and was grateful to his fans, as he once said, they realized every dream I had ever realized. Once again on his behalf I say thank you for that.”

In a Facebook post, Nancy then emphasized her career turning point, which she said was “a testimony of his undeniable talent.”
“He is survived by his wife Nancy of 45, his son John and his wife, his stepfather Genevieve and his grandchildren Nia, Jackson, Georgia and Gwyneth, his brother Dan and sister Virginia and various nephews and nephews,” the post said.
She concluded the post, writing that “she would miss him every day for the rest of his life. He was simply the best.”

“With all the love I have in my heart for a wonderful man who left too early from this world,” she wrote.
Tillotson was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and started working in local functions and on an early age. He studied at the University of Florida and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communication in 1959. During his stay at the University, he started writing music, and the local DJ endured a ribbon of his singing for national pet milk talents.

The competition proved to be his biggest break when the music publisher Nashville introduced him to Archie Blyer, owner of the Cadence Records, according to a biography on his website. He eventually got a record job.
Tillotson was best known for his song “Poetry in Motion”, which reached no. 2 on Panel Hot 100. The singer songwriter also gained a broad confession for his songs “Talk Back Treshing Lips”, “You can never stop me to love you” and “stick to the right on A-Gumini”, covered by greats like Dean Martin, Bobby Darin and Elvis Presley.
He also received two Grammy nominations, one for the best country and western recording for “IT holds the right to A-Sudu” in 1962, and the other for the best contemporary (R&R) vocal appearance for Heartches by The Broom 1966.
Days before his death, Tillotson announced “Everything I touch turns into blue.”
