JoJo Siwa Admits She Got a Bit ‘Psycho’ During Boot Camp Training for ‘Special Forces’ (Exclusive)

JoJo Siwa has put everything into her preparations for Special forces: the toughest test in the world.

The Dance moms alum, 20, admitted to PEOPLE that she took boot camp training for the second season of the Fox reality competition very seriously — and took her co-stars Nick Viall and Tyler Cameron to task if they weren’t right.

“I was crazy. I’d stand in the doorway and say, ‘Nick, your bottom left button. Tyler, your right shoe. Phone… Not phone. Instead of phone, wallet, keys, you say hat, gloves, Armband. Unfastened you’re zipped up. you’re buttoned up. Guys, we’re wearing this, this and that,'” she recalled Tuesday at a press event in Los Angeles for the show.

Despite going sergeant mode with the Bachelor Nation stars, Siwa said the two kept her sane amid the physically and mentally demanding experience.

“I’m lucky I had Nick and I’m lucky I had Tyler and Bode [Miller] and we all became super close, but definitely Nick and Tyler were where I was like, ‘Thank God I have these people here. Because if I didn’t have you, no,’ she continues.

Viall, 42, echoed the sentiment, saying he felt “lucky” to have met Siwa. “Maybe there was a world where JoJo and I would have become friends and become fast friends, but sure Special forces brought us together and I expect that we will be each other’s lives for a long time,” he told PEOPLE.

“Oh hell, I’m going to cry here,” Siwa said in response to Vialla’s sweet comments, joking, “My family has a joke: a lesbian and two bachelors walk into a bar. I was like, ‘Yeah? ‘ What are the odds… It is great.”

The “DREAM” singer recounted the moment Viall came to her aid when her feet were so cold from all the time outside — the show was filmed in the mountains of New Zealand as the contestants went through “winter warfare training” — that if she had worried she would have to bow out of the show.

“We were driving back and I really thought I was going to have to leave because my feet were above freezing. And I took my boots off… and I said, ‘My feet, man, they’re just… I don’t know what to do .’ And Nick said, ‘Put your feet here’.”

The reality star and podcast host then took Siwan’s feet in his hands and began squeezing them to warm them up. “The reason my feet are still attached to my body is because of you. They would fall off,” she told Viall.

The trio recently reunited after filming and attended a Zach Bryan concert together, along with Viall’s fiancee Natalie Joy.

“The band is back together!!” Siwa made the announcement in an Instagram post dated Aug. 24, along with photos and video clips of the group enjoying the concert.

“If someone had told me a year ago that these two boys would become such a big part of my life, I would never have believed you…” she continued. “The special forces brought us together just a few months ago and I’m so grateful🤍 for these two AND for the rest of the chosen family acquired by the forces, a bond that will last a lifetime!!”

Viall left Siwa a comment on the post, mocking her over-commitment to boot camp. “Thanks for keeping us in line, duty recruit ❤️,” he wrote.

Cameron, 30, wrote: “I love you yoyo! I’m so thankful that the special forces brought us together!”
