Joker 2 Star Tim Dillon Calls Movie the 'Worst Film Ever Made': 'It’s Not Even Hate-Watchable'

Tim Dillon was not a fan Joker: Folie à Deux.

The comedian — who had a small role in the film as a guard at Arkham Asylum — talked about the sequel and the music during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience episode of the podcast on November 6, calling it “the worst movie ever made”.

Despite 2019 Joker winning two Oscars, the sequel had a “disappointing” run at the box office.

“I mean what happened after the first one Jokerthere were a lot of conversations like, ‘Oh, incels loved this. This appealed to the wrong kind of people,” Dillon, 39, said of the Todd Phillips-directed film. “This sent the wrong message. Male rage! Nihilism!’ All these pieces of thinking.”

Dillon also focused on the major twist the sequel made by incorporating music into a comic book movie about one of Gotham’s most notorious villains. “And then I think [they said]’What if we took a different route,’ and now they have Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga tap dancing to the point where it’s crazy.”

Dillon also claimed the sequel had “no plot,” recalling when he spoke to others on set about the story.

“We’d be sitting there, me and these other guys were wearing safety gear because we work at Arkham Asylum, and I’d turn to one of them and we’d hear this shit and I’d go, ‘What the fuck is this?’ And they’d say, ‘This is going to bomb, man.’ I say, ‘This is the worst thing I’ve ever seen.’ ”

“We were talking about it over lunch, and we’d be like, ‘What’s the plot? Is there a plot? I don’t know, I think he fell in love with her in prison?’ It’s not even hate-watching, that’s how terrible it is,” Dillon continued.
