Jonathan Van Ness is approaching his fifth year of marriage to Mark Peacock!
The A strange eye star, 37, looked back on their nearly half-decade of marriage and predicted what their next anniversary activities might be while speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the WWD Style Awards on Jan. 3.
“Oh my God. I can’t believe it’s been five years already,” says Van Ness, referring to her June 2020 wedding to Peacock, who shares five cats and three dogs with Van Ness. “But I always joke with him, I think every night is like sleeping over. We can sleep over every night.”
The couple, who were recently photographed together at Netflix’s Golden Globes Afterparty on Jan. 5, have a few trendy activities to do on their fifth anniversary on June 5 — which might include playing a multiplayer game Fortnite again for a “scary” amount of hours.

“Cook together. Go for the pickle ball. He’ll do his pottery and I’ll play needlepoint or paint, usually just with him in our little art space we have in our garage. We like to be a little crafty,” reveals Van Ness. “Also, this is a little known dating fact. It’s kind of random: we’re obsessed Fortnite. We played a lot Fortnite scary the other day.”
“We got home at noon, and the next thing I remembered was 8. We happened to be playing Fortnite during 8 hours. It was Sunday, but I was shaken. It’s a really fun game,” says Van Ness — who is non-binary and uses the pronouns he/him, she/her and they/them — stressing that this is quality time together.

Fans first learned of Van Ness and Peacock’s wedding in a December 2020 Instagram post, in which the reality star summed up a busy year: “2020. it was a year like no other. I have to run a campaign and get more politically involved. I finished mine [standup comedy] tour in Australia and New Zealand … married my best friend and have a loving partner to continue building my life with,” Van Ness wrote, in part, in the lengthy caption.
In January 2021, the grooming guru shared details about their meeting.
“We went on a date in London, which turned into new dates while I was on a comedy tour,” Van Ness captioned an Instagram post at the time. “At the end of that time, I took my mom, aunt and friends on a little vacation to Amsterdam. I wanted @marklondon to come with us but was it a bit intense to ask Mark to come after the pair [weeks’ worth] date to come meet my mom and friends on a little vacation? Maybe so, but something about Marko was different and I’m quite sure that he felt the same way 🥰.”

The couple has shared anniversaries in the past. On June 5, 2023, Peacock posted a montage of memories and wrote: “THREE YEARS 💍. I love my @jvn 🧡.” And on June 5, 2021, Van Ness posted a photo carousel and wrote: “Happy wedding anniversary @marklondon 🏳️🌈 Love our adventures and can’t wait to do more 💕💕💕.”
Looking ahead, A strange eye The expert also told PEOPLE at this month’s WWD Style Awards some fashion and hairstyle predictions for 2025.
“My prediction is that we’re going to see much stronger POVs,” he says. “This year we’re going to see a lot more people in our lives, friends and family, celebrities, taking the plunge and doing something new.”
Van Ness might also try something new with his hair.
“I’ve really been playing around with just changing my cut a bit… I can’t say whether it’s a good idea or not yet,” he reveals. “I’m going to sit with my impulsiveness for a little bit, but I was thinking about going in kind of vintagey ’60s, taking the front really short, the back really long, and just kind of doing a ’60s vibe.”
