Jonnie Irwin’s lung cancer diagnosis – a new medical condition
Jonnie Irwin just opened up about his lung cancer. He was diagnosed with the disease in 2020, but only recently decided to talk about it. The legendary host also accused the producers of Places in the Sun for pulling him out of the show as soon as he told them he was dying. He claims that when he announced his terminal lung cancer diagnosis, management paid him for the remainder of the season but did not renew his contract even though they knew he wanted to continue.
“That stung. It destroyed my heart. I am quite disappointed. “I can’t even watch the show anymore,” Jonnie continued. He informed the producers that he will receive documents from his oncologist that he is fit to work. Freeform Productions and Channel 4 said “no stone has been left unturned” in their efforts to find a solution to Jonnie’s stay, but have been unable to secure insurance. Jonnie first suspected something was wrong while filming the series in Italy. His vision blurred while driving. When he returned, the doctors told him he had six months to live. He hosted A Place in the Sun from 2004 and was on Escape to the Country from 2010.
Where is Jonny Irwin now? How is he?
Jonny Irwin is now on leave and spending time with his family. Earlier this month, the property expert told Hello Magazine that he doesn’t know how much time he has left, but is trying to be “positive” by remembering that he is “living with Cancer, not dying from it”. The 49-year-old now has chronic ailments as a result of liver damage caused by chemotherapy. He claims he has no idea how long he has until the lung cancer spreads to his brain.
When he first learned of his condition, he had the difficult task of informing his wife, who was at home looking after their children. Furthermore, the father of three is worried that his boys will forget him when he is gone. It’s also hard for him to enjoy being with his family now that he knows they won’t be around much longer.
