Jordyn Woods Gets Candid About Relationship with Karl-Anthony Towns: ‘We’ve Been Through a Lot’ (Exclusive)

Jordyn Woods shares insight into her relationship with NBA star Karl-Anthony Towns.

The model and socialite, 26, recently told PEOPLE at Femme It Forward’s 2nd Annual Give Her FlowHERS Gala what she thinks is the key to their three-year relationship — and that includes building a strong bond before dating.

“Friendship and trust,” Woods said. “We were really good friends before we started dating, and COVID gave us that free time in our lives to really get to know each other, because a lot of people don’t really get to know each other and get into this relationship.”

“So we’ve been through a lot together,” she added. “We’ve seen each other in different ways, at different times, at different stages, so I think we have a very strong foundation.”

Woods, who also noted that “quality time” also helps sustain their relationship, said she wants to attend “as many” of Towns’ games as she can. “It’s his birthday in a few days, so I’m going to that game,” she said, cheering on his team, the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Another way couples show their love is through personal gifts. “We love giving and … What is it? Language of love? The language of love is quality time. We love everyone – she said.

“I’m excited. Every holiday we like to be big for each other,” she explained. “He does so much for me. I do what I can for him. I want to say it’s a lot. So when it’s time to show that appreciation, we like to give it our all from myself.”

However, Woods wasn’t the only one gushing about Towns at the Give Her FlowHERS event. Her sister Jodie Woods shared her delight at having the athlete a part of their lives.

“I love him so much,” Jodie told PEOPLE. “Literally, even before they were together, they were best friends, so he would always be around. That’s my brother. I know that if I need anything, he has me. I love him to death.”

Jordyn and Towns met through mutual friends “years ago,” but it wasn’t until 2020 that their close friendship blossomed into a relationship.

The couple started dating in May 2020, and announced their relationship in September of the same year. In the meantime, they have traveled the world together and often share their affection and appreciation for each other on social media.

Recently, the two were seen kissing and hugging while swimming in the crystal blue water at their luxury hotel during a July trip to Greece. The couple was vacationing with Towns’ fellow NBA players Patrick Beverley, Paul George, Ivica Zupac and their loved ones.

Jordyn shared photos from the trip on Instagram, including snaps of her in a white crop top and sparkly skirt. “From Mykonos with love 🤍,” she wrote in the caption.
