Joseph Hottenstein, age 79, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, at a hospital in Ft. Worth. Born July 27, 1931 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Joseph was the beloved son of Joe and Catherine Hottenstein. A native of Abilene, Joseph led a remarkable life of service and dedication.
In 1951, Joseph began a career in the United States Air Force, a path that would shape his journey for years to come. His service took him to various places, including Vietnam, where he held the esteemed position of assistant chaplain. Joseph found joy in sharing his musical talents as the leader of a singing ensemble known as RG (Revelation Generation), bringing people together through the power of song.
After a dedicated career, Joseph made the decision to retire from active duty in September 1971 while stationed at Dyess Air Force Base. He then moved his family to Abilene, where he continued to contribute to his community.
