Josh Gerstein’s career

Before joining ABC, Gerstein covered terrorism-related issues for CNN’s investigative unit, including the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Gerstein was a reporter for ABC in Beijing from 2002 to 2003. He visited Afghanistan and Pakistan several times, reporting for programs such as “Nightline” on the letters sent to the families of Guantánamo detainees and the security measures implemented to protect US officials.

He covered the SARS crisis for “World News Tonight” from rural farms in Guangzhou, where the virus is believed to have originated, as well as the deserted streets of the Chinese capital. Gerstein spent 15 years (1995–2003) working for ABC News.
