It was a watershed moment for Judith Light on Saturday night, who took home her first Primetime Emmy at the 75th Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday.
She won Best Guest Actress in a Comedy or Musical for her role in Peacock An expressionless face.

“What a way to start the new year!” Light exclaimed during her short thank you speech.
Light — who won two Daytime Emmys in 1980 and 1981 for Outstanding Lead Actress for her role on the ABC soap opera One life to life — she also thanked her fellow nominees and praised them An expressionless face creators to create the memorable role of Irene Smothers, a retirement home resident and half of a duo (with S. Epatha Merkerson) with a penchant for murder.

“This victory is everything. It’s about this Academy that recognized me in this way,” she told reporters afterwards. “I’ve been in the business a long time, so this is a real gift… For so many areas of my life, it means so many different things.”
This was Light’s fifth Primetime Emmy nomination, having previously been nominated three times for Outstanding Supporting Actress in Transparent, as well as Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series in 2007 for Ugly Betty.
