Jugnu Mohsin is a Pakistani journalist and politician. Mohsin is a member of Pakistan Women’s Action Forum. She is the co-founder of Friday Times Newsweek and Pioneer Books.

Syeda Maimanat Mohsin was born on 19 September 1959 in Lahore, Pakistan (age 64 years 2023). She completed her education at the Convent of Jesus and Mary, Lahore. In 1980, she obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from Cambridge University. In 1984, she studied for a postgraduate degree at the University of Cambridge. In London, she was called to practice at Gray’s Inn, one of the four professional associations for lawyers and judges.

In May 1999, Mohsin’s husband Najam Sethi was arrested by the Punjab police without a warrant. Eight armed police officers reportedly broke into their home, tied up Mohsin, locked her in a room and arrested her husband. She launched protests and a campaign in the Friday Times demanding her husband’s release.

The Committee to Protect Journalists and World Bank President James Wolfensohn also wrote to Nawaz Sharif demanding the release of Najam al-Sisi. In June 1999, Seti was released due to insufficient evidence to prove the government’s charges of “condemning the founding of the state, advocating the abolition of national sovereignty” and “inciting hostility between different groups”.

In June 2021, Mohsin was attacked by an unidentified gunman after a rally in Jhuj Kalan in Punjab. She reportedly received death threats on social media for not attending the rally, but attended anyway. After attending a rally, her vehicle was attacked, stones were pelted and a gunman shot at her; according to the FIR, she was safe while the main assailant was on the run after shooting at Mohsin.
