They’ve been absent for nearly half the series – long enough that, to fans who joined the series later, they’re legends rather than active characters.

Jujutsu Kaisen Flashback hints at Gojo and Nohara’s return
While Satoru has been seen in flashbacks since his incarceration, Chapter 210 is different as it reveals his relationship with Megumi Jujutsu Kaisen. In flashbacks, Gojo was almost an eccentric uncle to the young Megumi. Definitely protective, but also more than willing to show the young wizard things his parents wouldn’t do. This shows that there is a real two-way feeling in the relationship. Even though Nohara’s appearance isn’t through flashback, it still generates the same poignancy as Gojo’s scene. In the scene, Akutami includes a panel showing Nobara as Megumi and Yuji talking about Hana Kurusu replacing her as part of the trio. While they ultimately dismissed the idea as crazy, the glimpse of Nohara was equally thrilling. Furthermore, Megumi and Yuuji decide that this statement is nonsense, which is the best sign that Nohara is still alive, because if she is indeed dead, it doesn’t seem like such a crazy topic, and they need a new partner.
Of course, fans will never be sure exactly what Akutami is going to do with the story. He doesn’t seem worried about what fans will think of his plot. However, Gojo and Nohara’s appearance in a rather emotional scene suggests there’s more to them in this chapter.And, as the news spread Jujutsu Kaisen Likely to end this year, a final appearance or reappearance would make sense, if for no other reason than to end the debate over their whereabouts.
