Julian Bleach (born December 29, 1963)[1] is an English actor, singer and playwright best known as the co-creator and “MC” of ShockHead Peter, a musical comedy based on the works of Heinrich Hoffmann. 2002 Olivier Award for Best Entertainment. He is also known for his role as Davros in the 2005 Doctor Who revival.

Bournemouth is where Bleach was born. He attended Summerbee School and then went on to study acting at Bournemouth College and Poole. He then studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

On television, he played “The Beast” in the 2007 ITV production of Frankenstein. In the second installment of the Doctor Who Torchwood spin-off series, he played the villain “Ghostmaker” in Peter J. Hammond’s From Out of the Rain. Bleach was then cast as Davros, the Doctor’s nemesis and the creator of the Daleks, in “The Stolen Land” and “Journey’s End”, the two-part finale of the 2008 series and directly at Doctor Who Prom, before reprising the role in the 2015 series opening, “The Magician’s Apprentice” and its epilogue, “The Witch’s Familiar”.
He was cast as the character of the same name in The Nightmare Man, the opening story of Series 4 of The Adventures of Sarah Jane, in 2010. This makes him one of only two actors (the other being Paul Marc Davis) to appear in Doctor Who and its spin-offs, Torchwood and The Adventures of Sarah-Jane. He played Niccolò Machiavelli in Showtime’s The Borgias in 2011.
Bleach made his Bristol Old Vic debut in 2016 as Barkilphedro in the critically acclaimed new musical The Grinning Man, which was transferred to Trafalgar Studios in late 2017. That same year, he appeared at the National Theatre. Royals in Rory Mullarkey’s new play Saint George and the Dragon.
