Julianne Hough Introduces Her New Puppy Sunny to the World: ‘I Love You so Much’

Julianne Hough is a dog mom again and she can’t stop drooling!

The Dancing with the stars co-host, 35, welcomed her new pup, Sunny, into the world via Instagram on Thursday. She shared a snap of herself picking Sunny up off a large rug and rocking her in the living room while Taylor Swift’s 2020 song “August” plays in the background.

“Say hello to little miss Sunny girl 🥹☀️🤍,” she captioned the video.

The Dirty Grandpa the actress continued gushing love for her new golden girl on her Instagram Story, sharing another clip with the caption, “Now that Sunny ☀️ has made her media debut…. 🥹 Get ready to be inundated with perfect content.”

As Hough filmed Sunny lying in his arms, she whispered, “You’re perfect.”

“I love you. I love you so much,” Hough continued, which Sunny seemed to take as a sign to start licking her new human mother all over her face.

“You are my sunshine, my little Sunny girl,” Hough told Sunny as the pup continued to lick before letting the big pup yawn and bury his face under Hough’s hand.

Hough, who finalized her divorce from former NHL player Brooks Laich in February 2022 after five years of marriage, could barely contain her emotions from cuteness overload.

The adorable pooch replaced Hough’s former dogs Lexi and Harley, who both died on the same day in 2019.

Some of Hough’s fans speculated about what breed of dog Sunny might be in response to her first post about the new pet.

“Sunny looks like a doxie,” wrote one fan, using the colloquial term for the dachshund, while another replied, “[Sunny] she looks like a Ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, which is the type of dog she’s had in the past.”

Hough’s two Cavalier King Charles spaniels, Lexi and Harley, both died on September 28, 2019. The star announced the news on Instagram, thanking her “babies, [her] daughter” because you have given her so much love over the years.

“Pure love is real, it existed through us. My heart expanded and felt the truth of what was possible. I am forever grateful,” Hough captioned a series of photos and videos of her beloved pets.

Thank you for allowing me to give and receive love,” she added. “Thank you for your kisses. Thank you for your blessings every minute of every day. Thank you for your souls. Thank you for protecting me. Thank you for letting me protect you. Thank you for protecting each other.”

Hough continued: “Thank you for the timeless memories. Thank you for your magic. Thank you for being the most consistent and steadfast beings in my life. Thank you for being you. Thank you for being my guardians on this earth, and now even more so.”

She concluded the post with the dogs’ birth and death dates, adding: “I have never experienced love like ours. I miss you. I love you forever. Now you are free.”

Hough returns to Dancing with the stars as co-host for season 32. The series is set to return on September 26 on ABC and air on Disney+ and Hulu.
