Julianne Hough Shares She’s Holding Her Family ‘Extra Tight’ After Sister-in-Law Hayley Erbert’s Emergency Craniectomy

Julianne Hough is holding on to those who are important to her this holiday season.

Former Dancing with the stars judge shared a new Instagram post Thursday with photos of the 35-year-old hugging her family members.

“Holding my family tight this holiday season ❤️,” Hough captioned the carousel on Instagram.

Another photo of the professional dancer shows her hugging her older brother, Derek Hough, who recently shared that his wife Hayley Erbert has undergone a series of emergency surgeries, including an emergency craniectomy and a skull implant.

Julianne also shared a photo of herself hugging her sister-in-law. The two were in comfortable cream colored pajamas as they held each other tightly.

Along with photos of her brother, 38, and his wife, 29, Julianne shared photos of her sisters Marabeth and Sharee, as well as a selfie with Derek and their mother Marriann.

Prior to Julianne’s Instagram post, Derek shared that Erbert had “successfully completed” cranioplasty surgery on Thursday. Erbert’s surgery – where “a large part of her skull” was replaced – followed an emergency craniectomy earlier this month.

“My sincere gratitude goes to the exceptional medical team. Their expertise and steady hands were key along the way, ensuring a smooth and successful surgery. Especially Dr. Mai who not only performed the surgery but also saved her life for 2 weeks,” he shared Derek posted on his Instagram on Thursday.

“This surgery marks a significant milestone in my wife’s recovery, and your support has played a key role in getting her here. We are full of hope and optimism for the future, knowing that she is on the road to a full recovery, surrounded by a loving community,” the professional dancer wrote.

Derek Hough feels ‘overwhelming joy’ after wife Hayley Erbert’s skull operation ‘completed successfully’

The emergency procedures followed news that Erbert was being treated for a cranial hematoma. She began experiencing symptoms while the couple was on their Symphony of Dance tour in Washington DC on December 6.

Ahead of Erbert’s first surgery, Julianne shared the news on Instagram and asked followers to pray for her sister-in-law. “Pray and send all your love, healing and light to Hayley and Derek 🙏,” Julianne wrote. “Thank you from the bottom of our family’s hearts!❤️.”
