In the 1950s, Julie Robinson began her acting career. Carmen Jones, a 1954 film by Otto Preminger, was her debut. In this movie, she met Harry Belafonte, who played Joe. As a dancer in the ensemble, she also had a small role in the film.
After her debut, Robinson continued to work in the film industry, mainly in supporting roles. Her most recognizable roles are Mrs. Flanders in the drama “A Safe Place” (1971), directed by Henry Jaglom, and the appearance of Van Gogh’s sister-in-law in Lust for Life (1956), produced by Vincente Minnelli.
