Justin Hartley is ready to solve some mysteries as he takes on his newest role!

The This is us alum, 46, stars as the ultimate survivor in CBS’s new series, Tracker — and PEOPLE can exclusively release the series’ first trailer.

The upcoming action drama follows Colter Shaw (Hartley), “a lone wolf survivalist who roams the country as a bounty hunter, using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve every possible mystery while battling his own fractured family,” according to the network.

“You collect awards, don’t you?” the woman asks Shaw at the beginning of the announcement.

“I prefer the term ‘rewarder,'” he replies as he cautiously makes his way through the woods during one of his many missions. “Everybody’s looking for something.”

Elsewhere in the footage, Shaw is seen providing medical aid to an injured woman in the harsh wilderness.

“I am a professional. This is how I make a living,” says Shaw. “The way you survive is to make quick, smart decisions. Stay calm. You never let panic take the wheel.”

When the truck nearly falls off a cliff, Shaw seemingly saves the driver, who asks him how he can “make it up to him.”

“Only prize money is fine,” says Shaw. “I believe it was 50 grand?”

From there, viewers see cut-scenes of Shaw running through the woods, being pulled by a pickup truck, being held at gunpoint, and even finding romance.

The original CBS series was created by Ben H. Winters based on The Never game by Jeffery Deaver. Hartley not only plays a simple mystery solver, but also serves as an executive producer.

Tracker also featuring Robin Weigert as Teddi Bruin, Abby McEnany as Velma Bruin and Eric Grise as Bob Exley.

In June 2022, Hartley spoke with Entertainment Weekly about his role in the new series. “It’s something so different for me, something I haven’t done in a while,” he said, admitting the new role is “very physical.”

“The guy is an expert detective, he takes the law into his own hands. He doesn’t necessarily play by the same rules that lawyers and police officers have to play by, and he has a mercenary side,” he added. “We also have a lot of levity in our show because it’s raised offline. There aren’t a lot of pop culture references, which lends itself to some hilarious, hilarious comedy.”
