Justin Narayan is an Indian-Australian youth pastor. He is the winner of the cooking reality show MasterChef Australia 13 (2021).

Justin Narayan was born in 1994 (2021, 27 years old) in Sydney, Australia.
As a student, he often watched Ian Hewison Huey’s TV show Cooking Adventures in his spare time and was inspired to cook from it. He started cooking when he was 13 years old. He learnt to cook from his mother and was influenced by Fijian and Indian traditions. In 2018, Narayan moved to Perth, Australia. He was studying for his Masters when he was selected to be the 13th MasterChef Australia. Justin put his studies on hold to participate in the show.

Justin was dating Esther Smoothy. After two years of dating, Justin was planning to propose to her. However, he was selected for the TV show “MasterChef Australia 13” and decided to postpone the proposal. Later, when he returned home for the Christmas holidays, Justin proposed to Esther in front of his family and friends.

Justin began his career as a youth pastor, helping to create a fun and safe community for teenagers. In 2021, he was one of 24 contestants selected for the cooking reality show MasterChef Australia 13.
He defeated other contestants Kishwar Chowdhury and Pete Campbell to become the winner of the show on July 13, 2021. Narayan received a prize of $250,000 (Rs 18.6 crore) and the coveted MasterChef trophy.
After winning the competition, Justin said,
I’m really honored and humbled to receive this title and win this tournament. I’m really going to take a week to process this and let it sink in, and then I’ll write you an email and let you know how I’m feeling.”
In an interview, Justin shared his experience on the show, saying,
It’s a humbling experience and I’m honored to be a part of it. I’m going to soak it up like a sponge and enjoy it as much as possible.”
He later wrote on Instagram:
Find people who believe in you. Support yourself. Work hard and hopefully you’ll surprise yourself! Whoever is reading this, I love you.”
