Justin Theroux was seriously impressed with his Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Costars’ unforgettable press tour fashion moments.
PEOPLE caught Theroux, 53, at the Ralph Lauren fashion show during the opening of New York Fashion Week on Thursday, September 5. The actor – who is casually dressed in jeans, a brushed leather jacket and a black shirt – shared his admiration for Jenna Ortega and Catherine O’Hara’s methodical dressing while promoting the sequel to the 1988 classic.
Both actresses channeled their characters and the film’s spooky vibes during the press tour, but their biggest standout moment came at the Venice Film Festival. Ortega, 21, arrived at the festival wearing a sheer red Dior Haute Couture gown that looked like a nod to the red wedding dress worn by Lydia (Winona Ryder) in the original bug juice.

“We did the red carpet right,” Theroux tells PEOPLE of the film’s cast. “That’s what Jenna Ortega did really good. I mean, if you really look at the brevity of her look… and Catherine O’Hara with the craziest, biggest fashion bangs anyone has ever done. Fantastic.”
