Justin Timberlake isn’t letting his illness stop him from singing his latest hit.
The Grammy winner, 43, performed an acoustic performance of his new single “Selfish” — complete with an admittedly “raspy voice” — on Instagram on Saturday, after coming down with the flu.
In the self-shot clip, the former *NSYNC member could be seen wearing a cream-colored cardigan while playing an acoustic guitar and singing the first verse and chorus of the song.
“Still over the flu that makes singing stupid so excuse the raspy voice but I’m messing around with an acoustic version of SELFISH,” Timberlake wrote in the caption.

The stripped-down moment on Instagram isn’t the only time the musician has performed the song “Selfish” these days.
The song, which he released on January 25, saw performances Saturday night liveduring a hometown concert in Memphis, alongside Jimmy Fallon and The Roots with instruments in the classroom and during a free show for fans at Irving Plaza in New York.
Timberlake is ready to announce Everything I thought it washis first new LP since 2018 Man from the forestMarch 18. As he told Zane Lowe during an Apple Music 1 discussion about “Selfish” last week, he hopes the new album will give fans a “real” perspective on his life.
“I was able, in some songs, to look back and have a real, not a refracted perspective of what was because they always say… you always hear that thing about, well, there’s never any truth, there’s just everybody’s perspective of what happened “, He said.
“But to actually look at it and be able to metabolize and verbalize my perspective on it, I don’t think I’ve ever done that before,” Timberlake continued.

The pop star also revealed that he had recorded 100 songs for the new project and had “worked on this album for a long time”, and had to narrow it down to the final 18-song list.
“I think every artist probably says that, but it’s my best work,” Timberlake said of the album, which includes “moments that are incredibly honest, but also, there’s a lot of freaking fun on this album.”
In promotion of the album, Timberlake recently announced his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, which kicks off in Vancouver on April 29 and later wraps up in July in Lexington, Kentucky.
A source told PEOPLE earlier this week that after spending time focusing on family — wife Jessica Biel and their two sons, Silas, 8½, and Phineas, 3½ — Timberlake “just felt the need to recreate” for the new record.
“He’s been great about it and Jess has been supportive,” the insider said, adding that his wife “loves his new music” and they’re “great together.”
