Jyotsana Paatni was born on July 7 and is from Tanakpur, Uttarakhand, India. She attended St. Francis High School in Tanakpur and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Media Studies from Chikara University, Chandigarh (2010-2013). Later, she went on to pursue a Master’s degree in Communication and Journalism from Osmania University, Hyderabad (2014-2016).

In August 2017, she started working as a news anchor and reporter at Indian Television.

- In the podcast, Josanna said that she worked in backend production and editing during college, not on camera. But to her surprise, when she started working with news channels, she got the anchor job. Also, in the podcast, she revealed that she is the youngest national news anchor.
- In the podcast, she also revealed that the famous Bollywood star Disha Patni is her cousin. In her childhood, Josana and Disha used to spend summer vacations together at her grandparents’ house. While sharing her childhood memories with Disha, she said,
Disha’s elder sister Khushboo di used to be our gang leader. Disha and I always used to follow her instructions.”
- A national-level long and high jumper and a state-level boxer, Jyotsana’s friends thought she might pursue a career in sports or join the military. But Jyotsana’s typical “Indian mother” was worried that she would get scars from boxing and would be hard to get a marriage proposal.
