How did your acting career begin?

In an interview with Times of India, Mahashweta revealed how she entered the acting industry. She said,

When I was four years old, I used to watch movies on TV and I would try to imitate the actors. I loved watching movies in all languages and I would act out scenes from the movies in front of my parents. They would appreciate my performance. I had a habit of saving money and never spent it on anything. One day, I gave all my savings to my father and told him that I wanted to act in movies. Seeing my interest and passion in acting, my father approached his friend, Surjeet Das, a director from Kerala, who gave me my first opportunity in the short film Aarodu Paruyum.
