Profession
While in school, Prabanjan briefly showed interest in volleyball; however, after college, he switched from playing volleyball to kabaddi to pursue his true passion. He moved to Chennai to join Sports Authority of India (SAI). As Prabanjan continued to perform well in kabaddi competitions, he earned a spot in the team that competed at the national level. His skills led him to join the national camp where he had the privilege of training with renowned players like Anup Kumar and Ajay Thakur. Eager to improve his abilities, the budding athlete closely observed other players and was keen to learn and master their tactics. During the training camp, he was trained by coach Kasnathan Bhaskaran.
Professional Kabaddi League
In 2015, K Prapanjan made his professional Kabaddi League (PKL) debut in his second season with U Mumba. In 2016, he spent another PKL season with U Mumba.
In 2017, Telugu Titans bought him for Rs 5 lakh during the 4th season of the Pro Kabaddi League. The following year, he was purchased by Tamil Tharaivas in PKL Season 5 for Rs 1.5 million. In Season 5, he participated in 22 games and won the championship. 123 Raid Points. In PKL Season 6, Gujarat Fortune Giants acquired him for Rs 38 lakh in 2018. He played a total of 22 games in the Championship, scoring 122 raid points and 1 interception point.
In the seventh season of 2019, he was acquired by the Bengal Warriors for 5.55 million rupees. During the tournament, he participated in 20 games and performed a total of 205 raids, earning 102 raid points. Bengal Warriors won the match by defeating Dabang Delhi KC in the final.
In 2021, Tamil Thalaivas bought him for 7.1 million rupees to participate in PKL Season 8. During the season, he played in a total of 7 games and scored 21 total raid points. Haryana Steelers purchased him for Rs 10 lakh in the 2022 PKL Season 9 auction. He scored 40 raid points in 66 raids in the championship. He was retained by Haryana Steelers in 2023 during the 10th season of PKL.
