K. Shivaram (1953-2024) was an Indian actor, politician and former bureaucrat. He is associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party and works mainly in Kannada films. He died of a heart attack on February 29, 2024, in Bangalore, India.

Movie
In 1993, he made his acting debut in the Kannada film “Baa Nalle Madhuchandrake”, directed by Nagathihalli Chandrashekar.
He has also appeared in several other films, including Vasantha Kavya in 1996, Sangliyana Part 3 in 1997, Prathibhatane and Khalanayaka in 1999 and Yarige Beda Duddu in 2001.
He subsequently appeared in several Kannada films such as Game For Love in 2003, Naaga in 2006 and O Prema Devathe in 2007. He was last seen in the 2017 Kannada film Tiger, playing the role of Shivram Nayak.
politics
In 2013, he joined the Indian National Congress (INC) as a member after retiring as Bangalore District Commissioner. However, in 2014, K. Shivaram left the INC and joined the Janata Dal (Secular) as its member. He contested the Legislative Assembly elections from Bijapur constituency but lost to the BJP candidate Ramesh Jigaji Naji.
In the same year, he returned to the Indian National Congress and supported the appointment of Dalit leader Dr Parameshwar as deputy chief minister of Karnataka. However, this support caused controversy during the Legislative Assembly elections.
On October 14, 2016, K. Shivaram joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after expressing dissatisfaction over the recognition of Dalits in higher positions in Indian National Congress politics.
He was subsequently appointed as a member of the Karnataka State Executive Council.
