Kacey Musgraves Made One of Her Epic Clap Backs Into a T-Shirt: See Her 'Self Aware' Look

Kacey Musgraves turns on the haters.

On Friday, May 31, the country star took to Instagram to share a hilarious t-shirt featuring one of her infamous back-slaps. The photo shows a close-up of a black T-shirt — presumably worn by Musgraves — that depicts the singer’s hilariously self-deprecating response to a rude comment made about her on Xu (formerly Twitter) in 2019.

“I liked your music, but your personality seems terrible,” the original post read, to which Musgraves, 35, replied, “It is.”

“Stay self-aware,” she captioned the Instagram post.

Fans are praising Musgraves for her humorous approach to the hateful comment.

“Just when I thought I couldn’t love you anymore,” wrote one.

While some users are asking for the t-shirt to be made official merch, others claim that it was at one point.

“This has to be official merchandise,” wrote one fan.

“It was,” another replied with a smiley emoticon.

“Then he must return it,” replied the original commenter.

Another fan said: “I have one of these and I treasure it with all my heart.”

The shirt is currently not available on Musgraves’ official website.

This isn’t the first time the country singer has made a statement with a T-shirt.

In February 2021, Texas Senator Ted Cruz traveled with his family to Cancún, Mexico amid the devastating winter storm Uri, which left millions of Texans without power, water and heat. Musgraves was part of the public outcry in response to Cruz’s travel plans, which many saw as tone-deaf.

The singer is joking published on X“*makes ‘CRUZIN FOR BRUZIN’ t-shirts * donates profits to Texans in need,” and about an hour later replied, “Connection coming soon. Don’t RUN AWAY…”

Hours later, Texas-born Musgraves shared a link to her shop with shirts for sale, writing: “Texas is cold, I can be cold” – a play on the lyrics of her hit “Slow Burn”.

The white shirts were only available for a few days, with all proceeds going directly to help Texans as well as “homeless immigrants seeking shelter and food.”

By the next morning, the Grammy winner said she had already raised $50,000.
