Kacey Musgraves Shares Muddy Nude Selfie

Kacey Musgraves bares all — again — showing some skin in a topless selfie, nearly three years after appearing naked on Saturday night live.

On June 14, the “Too Good to Be True” singer posted a near-bare selfie on her Instagram Stories. In the photo, the country music star poses in what appears to be an on-set hair and makeup trailer, while members of her glam squad help apply mud or muddy makeup to her skin.

Musgraves, 35, smiles as she holds up her phone for a selfie in the mirror. Meanwhile, one person is carefully fixing her hair, and two other people are spreading a thin layer of the brown substance over her naked body.

Aside from the mud, the only thing covering the seven-time Grammy winner’s private area is a small brown heart emoji.

This is not The golden hour the singer exposed herself for the first time in the name of art.

In October 2021, Musgraves channeled her inner-Jenny Curran during a nude performance on the season 47 premiere Saturday night live.

Armed only with her guitar and a pair of Celine cowboy boots, Musgraves performed “Justified” from her fifth studio album, Star-Crossed.

Her look was inspired by Jenny Robin Wright’s portrayal in the 1994 Oscar-winning film. Forrest Gumpwhen the actress also performed naked while singing Bob Dylan’s “Blowin’ in the Wind” (performed by Joan Baez on the soundtrack) at a strip club.

Musgraves recently opened up about her grandmother’s displeasure with the nude alternative cover for her sixth studio album, A deeper well.

Speaking on Apple Music Country Today’s Country Radio with Kelleigh Bannen in March, the “Anime Eyes” artist revealed her relatives’ reaction to a promotional photo taken by her sister Kelly.

“I just happened to have this idea… Because it was a big, wide-open green space. And I thought, ‘What if I’m really small?’ Like in a fetal position, in a way, into the ground,” she said during the interview. “And it’s just kind of vulnerable and almost like a rebirth, I guess.”

“I was showing my parents and grandparents the photos my sister had taken. And then she appeared naked, and Nana said, ‘Breathe!’ In fact, it was like she just saw an accident,” Musgraves recalled of her grandmother.

Once her grandmother finally found the words, she had no problem with them.

“She was like, ‘No!’ She said, ‘That’s not… that’s processing?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, that’s one of the covers,'” the “Butterflies” hitmaker said. “And she said, ‘Kacey, you’re a singer, not a stripper.'”

However, Musgraves wanted her grandmother to know that she was capable of juggling her talents.

“And I said, ‘Well, you know what? You can be both,’ she joked.
